Many young people who look after someone in their family worry that they might die, so it is important that you get the right information about the health problem they have and what can be done to treat it.
Talk to a parent about your fears. If it is hard to talk to someone in your family, a doctor or a social worker should be able to give you the right information about what can be done for the person you look after. A Young Carers Project worker can help you find the right information. If you talk about your worries, you may find that your family member’s health problem is not as serious as you thought.
